WORK EXPERIENCE

_SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry; Syracuse, NY

_Sustainability Coordinator
In July 2012, Andrea became SUNY-ESF's first sustainability coordinator. In this role, Andrea is designing the College's first Eco-Reps program, developing sustainability course designations, and enhancing communications efforts internally and externally.

Assistant to the Assistant Provost
From January to June 2012, Andrea coordinated the SUNY Student Opinion Survey (SOS) at SUNY-ESF, designed a Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) survey, and supported research related to researcher and policymaker experiences in interdisciplinary collaborations. She also developed an organization structure for the College's assessment initiatives.

_Accreditation Assistant
From August 2010 to December 2011, Andrea worked for the Assistant Provost for Assessment and Academic Initiatives to help coordinate the College's decennial accreditation efforts. As part of this position, she designed a staff and graduate student survey for institutional assessment and provided consultation for the accreditation's self-study on sustainability.

Sustainability Analyst
From January to June 2011, Andrea worked for SUNY ESF's Director of Renewable Energy Systems to help  complete the College's participation in the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). SUNY ESF achieved a Silver Rating, and Andrea established a plan for the institution to reach Gold in 2014. Following the STARS assessment, the administration accepted Andrea's proposal to develop an online searchable database for ESF courses, including those focused on and related to sustainability.

Teaching Assistant
From August to December 2010, Andrea served as a teaching assistant to Professor Myrna Hall's undergraduate Urban Ecology course. As part of this assignment, she graded lab reports and guided the 25-student class in conducting research in the field.

Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education; Lexington, KY

Publications & Education Coordinator
From January 2008 to June 2010, Andrea worked as the Publications and Education Coordinator and the Editor of the AASHE Bulletin. In addition to writing and editing the AASHE Bulletin (a weekly e-newsletter), she trained and managed two interns each at 20 - 30 hours per week; published three versions of the AASHE Digest, an annual report on the initiatives undertaken by colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada; and negotiated sponsorship and partnership agreements related to publications. Outside of her daily duties, Andrea performed annual and six-month staff evaluations for a one-year period.

Membership Coordinator
From August 2007 to January 2008, Andrea coordinated new and renewing memberships for the rapidly growing nonprofit. During a time when membership grew more than 200 percent, she initiated and co-developed a business program that netted over $50,000 in its first year and continues to bring in funding for the organization. She also supervised one assistant who worked 30 hours per week, and she established the organization's first membership database, a structure that greatly improved AASHE's organization and efficiency.

Indiana Department of Environmental Management; Indianapolis, IN

Intern
From May 2007 to August 2007, Andrea worked for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management's (IDEM) Office of Air quality as a summer intern. During this time, she contacted managers of manufacturing companies and environmental consultants on a daily basis to assist them with completing their Annual Air Quality Compliance Certifications. She also updated the departmental database with completed certifications and revisions and observed IDEM employee site visits to manufacturing and energy plants.
